In January of this year Assembled Threads ran two pilot training programs. One in Geelong and one in Keilor. We worked with Ames and BSL to recruit candidates, long term unemployed women who were keen to improve their commercial sewing skills. As part of this pilot we were doing some intensive training on basic garment construction. The teams were so talented we decided to create a product line for them to sew as part of their training. The scrub top was a really great training opportunity, and we wanted to make something really special. We reached out to Mulga the artist, a Sydney based graffiti artist, and asked could he design us some artwork that really captured that true sense of Aussie spirit our medical staff have shown, continuing to step up for us every day. This is our "hero" print exclusive to Assembled Threads, printed in Melbourne and sewn here in Victoria.
