Meet our Artisan Partners
Our Artist - Mariam.
My name is Mariam, I'm a recent architectural design graduate, with an interest in graphic design, illustration and architecture. I often find myself working across multiple mediums to create desired outcomes and designs.
For Assembled Threads, I wanted to play with form, and create interesting patterns through the use of simple shapes. Using a series of hand sketches, which were then produced digitally,
We ended up with a series of designs that played on semi-circular forms, that made the perfect patterns for tea towels and aprons!
Our Screen Printers - Nadia and Jason at Print Ink.
Originally founded in 2005 by three friends who met while studying textile design at RMIT, Jason Cesani and Nadia Husiak are the creative force behind Print ink Studio.
Print ink studio strongly believe in hand made products that are locally crafted. All our fabrics are designed and printed in our Collingwood studio using the artisan skills of hand screen printing.
Our weavers - Geelong Textiles Australia
Geelong Textiles has been a great partner with Assembled Threads providing us with the linen hopper fabric we have used throughout the Hub Homewares range.
Their weaving mill is situated the heart of one of Australia’s most historic wool and textile manufacturing regions. The site has been home to manufacturing quality woollen fabrics since 1920, when it was established as the Geelong Returned Sailors and Soldiers Woollen & Worsted Co-operative Manufacturing Company.
Geelong Textiles took over the historic weaving mill in 1971, continuing a long tradition of weaving various quality woollen and worsted fabrics from regionally abundant fine merino wool and other quality yarns.
Geelong Textiles Australia supplies a wide range of fabrics to Australian and overseas markets; quality upholstery and apparel fabrics for commercial and domestic use. Find out more at https://www.geelongtextiles.com.au/
